The Email That’s Been Sitting There For Three Weeks
Many people have one of these right now. It might be an email, a form, a phone call or a piece of work, and it would take an hour at most. Every morning you see it, feel a small drop in your stomach and decide that today isn’t quite the right day.
So the kitchen gets cleaned instead, very thoroughly. The easy messages get answered and another cup of tea gets made. By lunchtime the task has been looked at twice and touched not at all.
The worst part arrives in the evening, when you lie in bed asking yourself what’s wrong with you and why you can’t just do it. The next morning, when you see it again, it weighs more than it did the day before, because now it carries three weeks of bad feeling as well as the task itself.
(If one email isn’t your version, the same pattern runs the tax return done the night before it’s due, the essay started at midnight and the project that only moves once the deadline is close enough to frighten you.)
“I now give you permission to release all the feelings of guilt about the things you have put off in the past.”
From the recording of Stop Procrastination
That pattern runs on a mechanism, and once you see it, the whole thing starts to make sense. Researchers who study procrastination describe it as a way of escaping an uncomfortable feeling about a task for a while. The task feels boring, uncertain or too big, and putting it off brings a moment of relief.
Then the guilt arrives, and guilt is one more uncomfortable feeling attached to the same task. The next morning the task carries two bad feelings instead of one, so the urge to escape is even stronger. Being hard on yourself feels responsible, almost like paying off a debt, which is why it’s so hard to stop. Yet every evening of self-criticism makes the next morning’s start heavier.
Each evening of guilt adds another layer to the task you’ll face in the morning.
Call it the Guilt Spiral. It’s the first of five faults this page goes through, and people who put things off usually have four or five of them working together.
Putting things off says nothing about your intelligence, your worth or your work ethic.
Lazy people don’t lie awake feeling bad about an unanswered email. Most people who procrastinate care a great deal. They were simply never shown another way to handle the feeling a task brings, or what to say to themselves after a lost day, and both of those can be learned. (If putting things off feels much bigger than you, or comes with a low mood that stays, talk with your doctor or a counselor, as the track itself suggests.)
Start Each Task With A Clean Slate, And Let The Feeling Come Along
Clean-Slate Starting is our name for what the Stop Procrastination Complete Edition trains: beginning each task fresh by forgiving yesterday’s delay quickly, naming the feeling the task brings, letting it come along and doing the very next thing with your hands.
The picture comes from Stop Procrastination. From the top of a gentle hill, the path down through a field of lavender looks long. Walked one step at a time, each step is simple and pleasant, and the only step you ever need to see is the next one.
From the inside, the feeling doesn’t have to leave before you begin. You notice it, call it by its name and take the first step with it still there. Very often the good feeling turns up a few minutes later, once you’re under way.
Through an ordinary day, the three tracks rehearse moves like these with you:
When the urge to put it off arrives, you name the feeling.“This feels boring.” Or “This feels uncertain.” Or “This feels too big.” Then one slow breath, and you let the feeling be there.
Then you ask what the very next thing is that you would do with your hands.Open the document and type a heading, find one phone number, put the first plate in the sink. A ten-minute timer follows, and when it rings you may stop or carry on.
When “later” turns up as a thought or a hand reaching for the phone, you catch it.“That’s procrastination. I’m starting now.” And you start.
The evening before, you make tomorrow’s start ready.A time and a place (“At nine o’clock, at my desk, I open the report”), the file left open and the phone in another room when the time comes.
When the afternoon dip makes everything feel like a job for tomorrow, you think one word. The word is “energy”, and it starts a short break: you stand, take three full breaths, move for a few minutes and drink a glass of water.
When you slip, you forgive yourself the way a good friend would.“That’s all right. I’m starting now.” And you begin again at the very next task.
Seen this way, “I work better under pressure” is often a way of waiting for a deadline’s panic to drown out the original feeling. It’s a symptom, and it tends to go quiet once you have another way to start.
None of it runs on self-criticism. Stop Procrastination begins by releasing the guilt about everything you’ve put off in the past, and every slip in all three tracks is met with kindness and a fresh start.
Steve’s own life shows how much can change once a fresh start is made, however heavy the past looks.
Steve Has Started Over From Further Back Than Most
If anyone had reason to feel buried by the past, it was Steve G. Jones. He lost his mother at an early age and grew up with his father, who battled alcohol abuse.
Career detours and failed business ventures followed, until he owed $80,000 on credit cards and collection agencies were beating down his door. After he was evicted from his own place he had nowhere to live but his office, and he was about to lose that as well.
From there he made his fresh start. He discovered a way to reprogram his mind to attract everything he needed and put systems in place to get his life back on track, drawing on NLP techniques and a specific framework for happiness and success. That framework became the Dream Life Mastery Program.
Today he’s a licensed Clinical Hypnotherapist and self-made multimillionaire who manages 22 training certification programs in hypnosis and NLP.
A clean slate is what this edition offers every task you’ve been carrying. Stop Procrastination releases the guilt and teaches you a new way to begin, Eliminate Success Blockers clears the habits that make delay look respectable, and Increase Energy keeps your energy from collapsing into “tomorrow” every afternoon.
Serena Stuart, who has listened to Steve for years, on his recordings as a whole:
“have found these recordings to be effective and very useful”
I have been lucky enough to be able to listen to Steve Jones’ recordings for about 7 or 8 years. I have always believed in hypnosis and have found these recordings to be effective and very useful. I just listen and notice the change.

Most People Think The Answer To Procrastination Is Being Harder On Yourself. Steve Starts With Forgiveness.
The usual advice is some version of “just do it”: more discipline, stricter deadlines and a sterner voice in your head. It’s how most of us talk to ourselves after a lost day, and it rarely gets the email sent.
Stop Procrastination starts somewhere else entirely, and the research behind it explains why:
Delay is a way to feel better for now
Researchers describe procrastination largely as a way of escaping an unpleasant feeling about a task for a while, with the cost passed on to your future self.
Sirois and Pychyl, Social and Personality Psychology Compass, 2013
Forgiveness made the next start easier
Students who forgave themselves for procrastinating before one exam procrastinated less before the next one.
Wohl, Pychyl and Bennett, Personality and Individual Differences, 2010
Meeting your future self helped
In a trial, students who listened to imagery about their future selves felt more connected to them, and that connection went with less procrastination.
Blouin-Hudon and Pychyl, Applied Psychology, 2017
Put together, they turn the usual advice upside down. If delay is a way of escaping a bad feeling, then piling on more bad feeling makes the next escape more likely, and kindness makes the next start easier.
More often than toughness, what gets a task started is what you say to yourself in the minute before you begin.
Every task you’ve put off is a path through a field of lavender. From the top of the hill it looks long and heavy, and it’s easy to stand there for weeks blaming your own legs, when all the path ever asked for was the next step.
“Whatever you feel about a task, you begin it now, with one small step.” From the recording of Stop Procrastination
Guilt Is The First Of Five Faults That Keep A Task Waiting
They turn up in students, freelancers, managers, parents and anyone with a form on the kitchen table. You’ve already met the first.
1
The Guilt Spiral
Feeling bad about a delay seems like the responsible response, and it adds a second uncomfortable feeling to the task, which makes the next escape more tempting. It’s strongest on the evening after a lost day, exactly when a fresh start is needed most. The fix keeps your standards where they are and drops the punishment, so tomorrow’s start gets lighter instead of heavier.
2
The Mood Requirement
Waiting to feel like doing a task gives every uncomfortable feeling a veto. Stop Procrastination teaches the opposite habit: name the feeling, let it come along with you and take the first step anyway. As Steve says on the recording, “You don’t need to feel like doing a task to begin it.”
3
The Foggy Task
Big, vague tasks have no obvious first move, so the mind slides off them. Stop Procrastination hands you one question, “What is the very next thing I would do with my hands?”, along with a ten-minute timer and small deadlines for each piece of a bigger job.
4
The Respectable Detour
Polishing, tidying, checking messages and saying yes to someone else’s request all feel productive while the real task waits. Eliminate Success Blockers lifts those habits out one at a time, with a good-enough check, messages at times you choose and a kind, clear no.
5
The Afternoon Surrender
Plenty of tasks get pushed to tomorrow simply because three o’clock arrives and the energy goes with it. Increase Energy gives you an energy break started by one word, so the dip becomes a cue to refill instead of a reason to stop.
How many of those five could you spot in the last week? Each one has a matching habit in one of the three tracks, listed further down.

That’s the hypnotherapist behind the Stop Procrastination Complete Edition, and for $69.95 you get three of his tracks that work on the start, the habits around it and the energy behind it.
“But I’ve Tried The Timers, The Lists And The Accountability Apps”
Many people who put things off have a drawer full of systems: twenty-five-minute timers, to-do apps with streaks, accountability partners and sticky notes on the screen. Each one worked for about as long as it felt new.
Those tools organize the task, and the task was rarely the hard part. The hard part is the feeling the task brings, and a timer can’t make boredom or uncertainty any smaller. When the feeling wins, the app becomes one more thing to feel guilty about.
The Stop Procrastination Complete Edition works on the feeling, and on what you say to yourself afterwards, which are the two things the apps leave out. If a timer suits you, keep it, because Stop Procrastination uses a ten-minute one itself.
“If I’m Kind To Myself, Won’t I Just Do Even Less?”
It’s a reasonable fear, and it keeps a lot of people stuck in the spiral. Being hard on yourself can feel like the only thing holding everything together, so letting it go sounds like letting everything slide.
In these tracks, every act of kindness comes with a start attached: “That’s all right. I’m starting now.” Your standards stay where they are and only the punishment goes. One study even found that students who forgave themselves for putting off studying procrastinated less before their next exam.
And because Stop Procrastination releases the guilt about what you’ve put off in the past right at the start, you meet tomorrow’s task with one feeling to handle instead of two.
Leo Konfino wrote to Steve about the effect of his work in general:
“have actually taken real steps towards its realization”
My appreciation for your work and the positive impact it’s made on my life is far more than I’m able to describe here. However, I’ve been inspired to live out my dreams and have actually taken real steps towards its realization in the past few months. Your Fan, Student & Friend.

The starting numbers are only an example, so type in your own.
Those hours aren’t even the expensive part. Late fees, rushed work done in a panic the night before, the opportunity that closed while the form sat on the table and evenings spoiled by a task hanging over them never show up in the tally, and they’re usually what finally sends people looking for help.
Stop Procrastination gives you a new way to begin, with the old guilt released.
Eliminate Success Blockers lifts out the respectable habits that make delay feel productive.
Increase Energy keeps the afternoon dip from turning every task into “tomorrow”.
Type in your own numbers. Then think of the one task that has been waiting longest, and how it would feel to have it started by this time tomorrow.
Three Kinds Of People Who Put Things Off These Tracks Were Put Together For
The last-minute rescuer
Everything gets done eventually, in a rush the night before, and you’re tired of living that way even though it keeps working just well enough.
The one with the three-week-old email
There’s a message, a form or a phone call you’ve been avoiding, and every day it gets a little heavier.
The harsh self-critic
You put things off and then spend the evening telling yourself what’s wrong with you, which somehow makes tomorrow even harder.
If you recognize yourself in one of those, the Stop Procrastination Complete Edition brings you all three tracks for $69.95.
It isn’t for anyone hoping to change without taking a single small step. Each track ends with a first step for tomorrow, and Steve suggests staying with each track for 21 days, so if you can’t give it that right now, keep your $69.95. If putting things off feels much bigger than you, or comes with a low mood that stays, talk with your doctor or a counselor, and anyone in treatment for attention or mood problems should keep working with their doctor. The tracks also aren’t meant for anyone living with severe depression, psychosis, a seizure or dissociative disorder, or a drug or alcohol problem.
Putting things off, and the feeling behind it. Steve takes you to the top of a gentle hill above a field of lavender and walks you down the path one step at a time, then rehearses naming the feeling, the very next action, a ten-minute start, a ready desk, a meeting with your future self and a quick, kind restart after a slip.
The visible blockers that make delay look respectable: putting things off, perfectionism, distraction and saying yes to everything. A woodland stream slowed by fallen branches, and a practical way to lift each branch out, one at a time.
Your body’s energy across the day. A waterfall and an old mill wheel that keeps turning because the river keeps refilling it, and a short energy break started by the word “energy” the moment the afternoon dip arrives.
Name the feeling. “This feels boring”, “This feels uncertain” or “This feels too big”, and what happens when you let the feeling come along instead of waiting for it to leave. On Stop Procrastination. Answers “The Mood Requirement”.
“That’s procrastination. I’m starting now.” The phrase that catches “later” in the act, whether it arrives as a thought or as a hand reaching for the phone. On Stop Procrastination. Answers “The Mood Requirement”.
The very next thing with your hands. One question that turns a big, vague task into a first move you can make right now.On Stop Procrastination. Answers “The Foggy Task”.
The ten-minute start. A timer, a promise that you may stop when it rings, and the reason you often won’t want to.On Stop Procrastination. Answers “The Foggy Task”.
The ready start. Tomorrow’s time, place and open file decided the evening before, so the start is waiting when you sit down.On Stop Procrastination. Answers “The Foggy Task”.
The future self. A short meeting with tomorrow evening’s you, and why “later” belongs to that person. On Stop Procrastination. Answers “The Guilt Spiral”.
“That’s all right. I’m starting now.” The kind restart for the day you do put something off, so one slip never turns into a spiral. On Stop Procrastination. Answers “The Guilt Spiral”.
The good-enough check. The question that ends the polishing and lets finished work go out into the world. On Eliminate Success Blockers. Answers “The Respectable Detour”.
“Let me check, and I’ll come back to you.” The sentence that stops other people’s requests from quietly replacing your own work.On Eliminate Success Blockers. Answers “The Respectable Detour”.
The energy word. One word that turns the afternoon dip into a short refill instead of a reason to stop.On Increase Energy. Answers “The Afternoon Surrender”.
Each item there belongs to a real moment in your week, and Steve rehearses it with you in deep relaxation, so that when the moment comes, the new response already feels familiar.
A new way to begin: the guilt released, the feeling named, the very next action, a ten-minute start and a kind restart after a slip.

Quick Answers Before You Start (Today)
Is Stop Procrastination the same as Eliminate Success Blockers?
No, and this edition includes both. Eliminate Success Blockers gives putting things off one section among four visible blockers. Stop Procrastination spends all its time on procrastination itself: catching the moment, the feeling behind it, the very next action, the evening plan, your future self and self-forgiveness.
Which track should I start with?
Start with Stop Procrastination, then Eliminate Success Blockers, then Increase Energy, playing each one every day for 21 days, as Steve suggests for any one track.
What if I put off listening to the tracks?
Then you’re in good company, and the tracks were made with you in mind. Make pressing play on the first one your very next action today, and if you miss a day, say “That’s all right. I’m starting now” and press play the next day.
When should I listen?
Any quiet stretch of the day when nobody will disturb you. Each track ends by bringing you back wide awake, ready to begin. Never listen while driving or in a moving vehicle, and if you are under a doctor’s care, check with your doctor first, as Steve says at the start of each recording.
Can I buy just one track?
Yes. Each has its own page at dreamlifetrack.com, where Stop Procrastination sells for $29.95. Bought separately, the three cost $89.85, and the Stop Procrastination Complete Edition costs $69.95.
What’s the catch?
There isn’t one. You get three MP3s for $69.95 and a 30-day money-back guarantee. The tracks ask you to listen every day and to take one small first step.
When will I get the Program?
This is a digital file. You'll get the entire program in just five minutes from now. In fact, it could be sooner depending on your internet connection.
What format is the program and will it work on a phone?
The self-hypnosis file is mp3 format which means it can be downloaded to a phone, tablet or computer, or any other device to easily access it instantly.
What is your refund policy?
We have a 30 day money back guarantee. If you decide that the program is not for you within 30 days, then we'll refund every penny, no questions asked.
What if I have extra questions?
No problem. It would be great to hear from you. We would love to help you personally if you have any extra questions. Please email us at support@dreamlifeprogram.com. We'll respond as quickly as possible.
Stop Punishing Yourself For Putting It Off And Start Each Task With A Clean Slate
Tomorrow the task that has been waiting will still be there, and the old feeling will arrive with it. You can step around it once more and spend the evening paying for it. Or you can name the feeling, let it come along and do the very next thing with your hands for ten minutes.
For $69.95, the Stop Procrastination Complete Edition gives you all three tracks and every habit on this page, from a hypnotherapist who once made his own fresh start from an office he was about to lose.
If the tracks aren’t for you, one email within 30 days gets every penny back. If they do what they’re designed to do, the task you’ve been carrying longest could be under way by this time tomorrow.
